Semi-solid batteries are moving from lab to mass production: Chinese firms like CATL and QingTao have fitted them to several high-end models, raising energy density about 30%–50% over conventional liquid cells while lowering thermal-runaway risk and cold-weather degradation.

For export buyers this means longer range, higher safety margin and steadier cold-climate performance — especially suited to Russia and high-latitude markets. New-battery models also tend to clear destination certification earlier than older ones.
